Shyam Benegal says:
People outside Bengal know very little about what Subhash Chandra Bose did for India. That is why I used the word forgotten in my movie.
How can you object to things like the title and the songs in a movie," he said when asked about the recent controversy over the title of the movie. Benegal, who took three years to complete the movie, said the best possible research had been done for the movie and people should see the movie on the strength of its quality and not because of any controversy.
He said one of the reasons why nobody attempted a film on Bose was because they were "afraid" to deal with the subject.
